:):) decided to shoot a relic today a 1895 Winchester in 30 army. Forgot how fun these old lever guns can be. This one has peep sight and twenty rounds at a hundred yards is covered by the bottom of a coke can. Had fun

Maybe I will shoot the 1895 Winchester in 30-03 tomorrow :hmm:

Got back to playing with .22lr bench rifles yesterday. Shot this target at 50 yards.
53 shots-48 X's with 3 different lots of ammo. I've been told shooting this rifle is cheating.
Going to try something different now. I shoot with scopes so I pulled out a Kimber 82G & put the iron sights on it. Now the challenge is to hit the berm.

Got to test run the iron sights today. After several shots at 25 yards to make sure I was even on paper I took it to 50 yards. 1st two shots I was high so made adjustment to rear sight for next 3. Shooting iron after shooting scopes for so long was a real challenge. Trying to shade for a wind call is nothing like a scope. Insert inside front sight is a wide post so I'm looking for something better to change it out. Also I need to get a spotting scope because I had to set up my scope rifle on the next bench to see bullet holes in target. Will be doing more of this.
1st target at 50 yards. And yes it's the best. But the 2nd & others weren't too bad for a rookie iron sight shooter.

I had repaired a gentleman,s Knight 45/70 that would not fire. I had repaired it some time back and had put off testing it since my arthritis has been giving me fits. Well today the man came to get it, I told him I thought it was fixed, just needed to test it. KA-BOOM. He was so tickled that he gave me a ten dollar bonus. I held it tight and it didn,t even hurt.

I loaded and shot some 147gr subsonics through my 16" AR yesterday with the Octane 45 suppressor. I bumped the load up a little to get a little more speed. The last one's were around 950 fps. I had two types of cast, coated 147gr bullets and I loaded 20 of each. The results were interesting. I shot 10 round strings. The two strings with one type averaged 1071 and 1077 fps with extreme spreads of 36 and 31 fps. The other type averaged 1004 and 985 with extreme spreads of 163 and 98 fps. I was surprised at the difference between the two bullets.

I also tried a different load my G20 load. 180gr FMJ averaged 1404. I think this is the one I'll stick with. Just have to try it in my other 10mm's.

I think it's quieter than my .300 BO pistol. You can definitely hear more than the bolt but it's much quieter than a .22 rifle. It's hard to tell when you're shooting it. It sounds much different from 20' away.

Humpday gunday. FINALLY got some range time in yesterday me and the misses. Couldn't post till today on wifi. Shot ~500 rounds 22 through my m&p and her p22. Then moved to rifle range and ran my 10.5" truck gun and her, oh no.....pink gun :wut: Worked little on doubles and transitions. Have to say she impressed me and made me proud. Her Single transitions were great, just need to speed up her trigger finger little bit on the doubles.
