First...... Before I start my "report"...... ALL us Hi-Power shooters today owe M1GarandFan a BIG Thank You because.....

I was was running late this morning (arriving at 7:30 AM) and M1GarandFan already had ALL the match gear loaded from the building into his truck. 8 target frames, 8 target numbers, 8 ground covers, the HEAVY bucket of stakes, all the needed targets. All this coming from the 2nd floor......................................

DMC49 and PhillipM did help him put the gear away after the match. THANKS guys. Sorry I didn't help, but you both know why.....

OK......... Now for the HP match scores from today................

Scores pending M1GarandFan's verification.

CONGRATS to PhillipM for his HP match WIN today. That guy CAN SHOOT ! ! !

Today the Garands KICKED BUTT ! ! ! We showed those Black Rifle guys......... :)

Poor Shoe had his Garand's front sight come off during a stage. We got it screwed back on and he finished the match.

My layout for the match........

The Garand is for the Slow-fire stages and the BAR is for Rapid-Prone and the 1919 is for Rapid-Sitting....

:)

Yes.... The J & G Brothers brought their WWII full-auto toys back out today............ :) :) :) :)

This was my "real" setup today. Trying to hit Target #1 down there.................

Relay 1 (the only relay) getting ready to shoot.

Now..... Since PhillipM won the match........

He gets some trigger time with his new friend.............. :)

Thanks to the J & G Brothers we ENJOYED shooting their WWII full-auto toys after the match. 1918 BAR and a modified version of the 1919. Moving the 1919-A6's bipod to the rear of the barrel made it a PLEASURE to shoot prone. NOTE: The 1919-A4 is the standard 1919 fired from the ground mount (tripod). The 1919-A6 was intended to be a more mobile version with a bipod and rear stock and carry handle (to be fired from the prone position). FYI (history): 1919 + MG42 = M60.

Now if you want to "fine tune" your hits on target....... Go with the BAR. True you only have 20rds before a reload, but you can adjust much quicker (and MUCH more mobile). Both are 30-06 so you WILL get their ATTENTION........... :)

I do have some videos, but those will come later.........................

Hi-Power matches at Magnolia............ You never know what will show up to SHOOT................. :)

It was a great day guys. Phillip thanks so much for letting me shoot the other "old" gun. That is a sweet gun no doubt it helped with your score listed above! I had a great time shooting the 223 at the 300 range. Very surprised that it will hit with the iron sights.

Dan thank you for the hospitality. Cant wait until we can do it again. Hope you got some video of the long belt you ran late in the day. That was freaking awesome!

At least I know why I was even worse than usual in the rapid fire, those sights must have been going everywhere until they finally flew off. Note to self: Tighten stuff up before next match.

Still had a nice time on a beautiful day. Sorry I had to leave before "dessert" (read full-auto) arrived.

These matches are too much fun and any work I have to do to help get things set up is well worth the effort. I'm glad that everyone had a great time this past match. I wish I could have stayed for the full auto M1919 and BAR shoot again but the medicine I had taken earlier in the morning was wearing off and I had to get home. I'm surprised I scored as well as I did since I couldn't even keep the rifle steady during the match :whaaa: . A big thanks to J & G for bringing out the fun stuff again. Plus thanks to everyone for coming out to the match. We've got one more left this year coming up. :bigtu:

P.S. Scores are correct, SGF :thanx: for posting them. Congrats to Phillip for winning the match :bravo:

Guys, I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the match, and will be back again for the one on the 6th! Y'all were all super friendly, and I appreciate all the help I got! Too bad I missed the Class III stuff, it looks like you had fun! Maybe next year I can talk a friend of mine into letting me borrow his MG34 for a weekend. ;)
