This is not really surprising. They have been trying to erase/rewrite history for years. The Constitution and 1st Amendment? Just a couple of pesky little thing that won't let socialists have their way.

Up is down, down is up and 2+2=5. Thoughts? Are we the crazy ones, or are we just the only ones whose cheese has not slid off our crackers?
We are actually the SANE ones.
There is a old piece of paper in Washington that has held this republic together for sometime and will continue until there isn’t enough left to fight or enough left who remembers why or cares any longer.

See even what you said here comes to another point on this spear. You referred to the US as a “republic”. It is, but how often do the majority of people actually call it that. Do they actually know that it is a republic (without giving it a lot of adjectives that’s the closest one word description of our form of government). Everyone calls it a democracy.... it is not, those pretty much don’t last long.

It took me an hour to explain how the electoral college was not a bad system to a person who was claiming they felt dumb voting in MS because their vote didn’t count. I told this person it did because if the majority in your state votes a certain way then that determines the way the electoral votes go. They said that’s the way mississippi always goes and I said not really because about 25-35 years ago MS regularly went blueish but that also California always goes blue. They then went on about that having the most votes should mean you win. I said not in this case because if that were the case then the executive branch of our nation would always be decided by 2.5 states (New York/California) and it was set up that way to keep people in large urban states from lording over the peasants in rural states and essentially controlling them via popular vote (my examples what that would look like was them voting to tax everything in rural states and not tax anything in urban states causing rural states to be bankrupt and only urban states benefit from the taxes. I also said that what they were referring to is a true democracy which essentially leads to the serfdom of any type of minority that can be taken advantage of via majority vote). They then said but what about the majority of people that voted one way and still lost. I said that’s why the House of Representatives allows more members for more populated states. I also said the senate is the neutral ground where everyone is equal with each state getting 2. Then I said I felt the executive branch was tilted to favor rural and blended states. I said this was all done with the purpose of making it hard to vote people into serfdom/slavery and it’s why our government is cumbersome. I also said the purpose of states having their own government was to allow (kind of) miniature safe havens for minority groups in a way because originally many of the states were founded as religious havens for people that were ostracized in Europe and left. These same peoples descendants are the men that drafted all the initial govt documents and contracts. All this was done with the intent of preserving Individual freedoms and liberties not the lemming mentality. This person didn’t know what to say to this..... you could tell they had never heard this version of why our government is the way it is. They got this very oooooh look on their face. I don’t think I changed their political views but It was eye opening to me because it really showed how little of this is taught in school..... oh yeah and that is intentional.

You are so right we never hear that word and fewer still know the meaning.
