MATCH ANNOUNCEMENT:
The 2017 Mississippi State NSSF Rimfire Challenge Championship will be held July 29-30th, 2017 at Coast Rifle & Pistol Club near Biloxi, MS. This is a NSSF registered event.

MATCH DETAILS:
The 2017 Mississippi State NSSF Rimfire Challenge Championship is a family-friendly activity designed to teach new shooters how to get started in competitive shooting. The program’s focus is having FUN while being SAFE on the range.

The match will include 8 stages, 4 rifle and 4 pistol, shot in a one day format, with the option to shoot either Saturday or Sunday. There will be a lunch break with complimentary food provided on both days. Award ceremony will be Sunday evening.

All Steel Targets, 22LR only, rifle and pistol, 200 rounds minimum, 400 recommended.

Classes are Open and Limited.

Open - Any firearm (pistol, revolver or rifle) with scopes, optical sights, light- gathering scopes, battery-powered optics, lasers, compensator or muzzle brake.

Limited - Firearms with iron sights, adjustable sights and fiber optics are allowed. Firearms with electronic sights, compensators, muzzle breaks or barrel weights are not allowed in this division.

Special Recognition Categories – Top Lady, Top Youth (12 and under), Top Junior (13-17) and Top Senior (65+).

RANDOM PRIZE GIVEAWAY:
Prizes will be awarded by random drawing, and will include several firearms. Prize info will be updated here as it becomes available.

PLAQUE RECOGNITION:
Plaques will be awarded for the top three finishers in Open and Limited Divisions and the top finisher in each Special Recognition category.

Registration will open at 7pm CST on March 21st on Practiscore at the following link:

You can register to shoot two divisions, either on the same day or seperate days. Register twice, pay twice.

Limited to the first 150 entries. Any registration after that will go to the waitlist.

MATCH FEE:
Adults $40
Junior and Youth shoot FREE.

Once registered and approved you will be sent squadding and payment info. You have 14 days from registering to pay or you will be removed from the match. Refunds will be given up to 30 days prior to the match.

STAFF PACKAGE:
We are in need of 36 staff members to run the match, 18 each day. Three staff members will be assigned per squad, and will have the option to shoot as embedded RO's within the squad or shoot one day, work one day. Staff will shoot first entry FREE. If you work both days, your second entry is FREE. If you work both days and only shoot once, you will receive a $40 stipend for the second work day. If you would like to volunteer as staff, check the desired box indicating so on the registration form.
Please note, not all applications may be accepted once we have 30 staff positions filled. You will receive email confirming if you have been selected as staff.

We are also in need of 5 setup crew members to setup the match. The match will be completely setup the Friday evening before. Setup crew will shoot FREE. If you would like to volunteer as setup crew, check the box indicating so on the registration form. Please note, not all applications may be accepted once we have all setup crew positions filled. You will receive email confirming if you have been selected as setup crew.

SCHEDULE:
9:00 - 12:00pm Shooting
12:00 - 1:00pm Lunch Break. Complimentary lunch and drinks provided.
1:00 - 5:00pm Shooting
6:00 - 6:30pm Award Ceremony. (Sunday only)

Since this is state championship is it mostly Master and A class shooters?

Not even close. Probably more first time shooters than Grand Masters.

NSSF doesn't have a classification system, but if you were to use competitors USPSA Steel Challenge classifications, while there will be several Grand Master, Master, and A class shooters competing for top spots, as with any local, state, national or world match, the bulk of the shooters will be B and C class.
