    Any gun bills on the agenda for 2018? Pro or con?

    Bills as of yesterday,(got from Mike84)

    SB2090 Gun-free zones; businesses liable for injuries.

    HB26 Emergency Medical Technicians; authorize to carry firearms while in performance of duties

    HB135 Concealed firearms on school premises; authorize local school board to adopt policy permitting certain school employees to carry.

    SB2068 Concealed-carry license; 18-year-old with instructor certification qualifies for enhanced.

    HB245 Firearms; prohibit discharge near petroleum ---felony

    HB236 Firearms; prohibit altering serial number.

    HB 542 Enhanced carry firearms license; authorize to be carried onto public property

    HB513 Stun gun; remove the term from the firearms category

    HB627 Firearms; revise limits placed on counties and municipalities to regulate. (local govts want to reverse state pre-emption and enact their own gun restrictions)

    SB2239 Imitation firearms; prohibit sale of. (doesn't include BB, Airsoft, replicas)

    HB406 Concealed weapon; authorize reduce fees for certain older persons.

    HB697 Concealed weapons; authorize license holders to carry on campuses of higher education institutions.

    HB924 Knives; remove from concealed weapons list.

    So with HB245, would shooting someone while defending yourself at a service station be a felony?

    On federal level it is, maybe this is for state level when there's no federal charges???

    I’m sure that one is from the same delta demorat that issues that same or similar bill each year. Surprised the ‘register ammo’ from them isn’t in the list also

    It's from Clarke, she's Rep from District 69, includes parts of Raymond, Clinton and Jackson.

    So far I can see 2 of these bills that will die in committee: SB2090, and HB 452. Both deserve to go straight to the shredder.

    Define near, and define petroleum. And, I agree with stupid people part completely.

    I remember hazlehurst walmart use to log all the ammo in a book years ago. Use to buy 2 bricks a week of 22LR.

    That was a federal requirement, I remember this going back to the 1980s. IIRC it was repealed by the Firearm Owners Protection Act ca. 1986 or so. But it was definitely repealed.

    Yes it is a Federal crime but maybe not yet an enumerated crime in MS. Don't know, just a guess.
