If not another Ruger 10/22, then I’d go with a Bergara. They have a nice 10/22 pattern rifle now. But I’d probably just buy another ruger, honestly.

As far as semi auto .22s go, there’s very few reasons to stray from the 10/22 pattern. The Remington and Marlin options have major quality control issues, so I’d avoid them.

Another Ruger 10/22... or a "clone" like Thompson/Center's T/CR22 offering is a good choice here...

T/CR22® - Thompson/Center

Given that... it's awfully hard to argue against a Browning SA-22... having one in your hands is like "owning" a piece of firearms history...

BIL challenged my 10/22 with his Browning SA-22. Needless to say he lost. Redo the 10/22 unless you just want a new rifle. If thats the case get the Browning. But with very little tuning the 10/22 will shoot circles around the Browning.

Personally, go with a marlin model 60 if you want simple, cheap, and tube fed, or go with the 10/22.

And there are also pumps, lever actions, bolt actions, falling block and various other 22 rifles that are fun to shoot and accurate too. If you ever shoot a lever action 22 rifle, you will be hooked.Get someone that can help you tune your 10/22 up and experiment with some other types. My favorites are Bolt action and lever action but I like them all.

Upgrade your current 10/22 or if you want something different, get a Marlin 60. I have two 10/22's (one stock & one custom) and I have this one Marlin 60 stainless made in 1995. The manual says 14 round capacity but it will hold 15 with hammer cocked and action closed. Very accurate with the 22" barrel and functions perfect with all brands of .22 LR ammo.

I love my 10/22's, but my favorite is the Ruger Precision Rimfire. Very accurate, nice trigger. Almost everything you would do to build a custom 22 but at a much more reasonable price. Mine likes CCI standard velocity better than higher priced ammo.
