Has anyone ever had pierced “standard” primers running cci 400’s or Winchester SRP in their AR?

Several articles that I saw recommended to always use military (cci or Winchester 41’s) primers in AR’s due to piercing problems.

Hard enough to get ANY brand of small rifle primers, let alone “military” like Winchester 41’s or cci 41’s.

So what primers are you usually reloading with? Any problems are concerns?

Be careful with Remington 6 1/2, they are not for use in 5.56. Never had a problem with pierced primers or slam fires in the others. I use a lot of Russian or CCI primers.

I have mostly cci400, then some Winchester srp and a bit of federal 205 to work with for loads and development.

I have generally the same primers. The Federals are generally considered softer.(my experience anyway)
So, I only load them in bolt gun ammo, just for safety's sake.
