I use 150 hornady sst's with great success in my 308. I can give you a few to try out. I'm talking bullet only, not loaded ammo. Don't know if you can get them already loaded. You reload don't you?

Hammer, I'm trying to develop a load based on these same bullets. I need it to be accurate in 3 rifles -- two are Browning A-bolts, and one is Remington 700. So far I'm using CCI large rifle primers, and I'm trying to stick with Varget, since I have a lot of it, but I also have a pound of H4895 and would be willing to switch to that if needed. My first attempt was accurate in the Brownings, but not in the Remy. Any suggestions for me?

My go to hunting bullet is a Barnes TSX...that's all I will hunt with from now on...They are bad a$$....

Everything I've ever shot with one did not even quiver....DOA

It is my understanding that Berger VLD's are basically target bullets...some say they can be used for hunting...I might be tempted to try some but the Barnes Triple Shocks are so good I don't see much to improve on

IMR 4064 is my powder of choice for 308, next would be Varget and RL15 (as long as it was not extremely hot)

I also shoot 150gr Hornady SST. They are extremely accurate and seem to hold together pretty well on impact. I use Hodgden's H-380 powder. That stuff meters very well. It's the most consistent powder that I've found in terms of grains thrown from a RCBS meter. The load has been great from my abolt but I haven't tested them in the 700. That's got to be done before November.

I stay with the old tried and true Remington 150gr psp. Been around since Moses was in short pants. But I mostly carry revolvers, so that shows how up to speed I am! :lol4:

Ive been using CT's Ballistic Siver Tips (same bullet used in Winchester Supreme) in 168gr. with 44gr of Varget in Winchester brass with either CCI LR or MLR primers (the magnums are safe and add just a little more flame to get complete powder burn).
In my 700 with a 26" Shilen barrel, 1-12 twist, been putting them in 1" groups at 1000 yards. The moly coating really saves my barrel life and makes clean up a WHOLE lot easier. Definitely worth a try. And they're only $20/50 through midwayusa

I think if it were shooting that well, Id be wearing a gold medal around my neck and have M1A's given to me. Though, 10" groups at 1K yards is nothing to balk at for most people. Definitely not as good as my ol' M40A3 but then again, I dont shoot as well as I did a couple years ago either. damn IED's.....
