I just bought a beautiful .308 for F-Class from mildot. Now I got to work up some rounds & I need brass and bullets. Creedmore lists two types of Lapua. Which brass should I get, lapua or palma lapua. On their website it says that palma has a smaller primer pocket. I am totally new to competitive shooting. mildot had pics posted but were taken down & I just got the rifle and haven't even taken pic yet. Help!

I used to shoot a tack driving Winchester Model 70 Factory Target Rifle and I always used LC 67 Match brass in it. If you neck turn the brass, I see no advantage to Lapua over LC NM. I would also inside champher the flash holes in the primer pocket.

Stay with the standard brass. The palma brass was made for the international palma shooters that are limited to a 156 gr max bullet. So they were trying to get all the velocity out of the 155's as they could. In theory the small primer brass will take more pressure. In F-Class your not restricted to bullet weight so you can shoot larger higher B.C. bullets. I vote for the Lapua brass over other manufacturers because less work has to be done to the brass like beburring the flash hole, primer pocket depths and sorting by weight. I have bought a lot of Lapua in the past and have yet to have to cull any out because of weight spread. Oh by the way congrats on your purchase and look forward to you coming to shoot some F-Class with us.

I know I'm in over my head here, but that never stopped me before. I guess some unseen hand has been moving me towards this buy, but it happened so quick I haven't totally grasped that I have this rifle. I have some research to do, and some reloading equipment to buy, then practice. At the range here in G'ville, they don't have any F-Class matches, so yeah I'll be seeing you, and know I'll be in good hands.

It's yall's fault that I bought it. It sat for two whole days after mildot posted it, and not so much as a nibble. I went back fri night & it was still sitting there, all alone. :awesome:
