Well after several years of looking, I finally got an Ruger SP-101 in 327 Federal.

Shot it for the first time yesterday with American Eagle 100 gr. This is not your mother's 32. It was actually almost painfull....kinda surprised me....Tried some Federal Personal Defense and it was a lot softer. Accuracy at 21 feet was so so...I could keep em all in a paper plate but they were not all that tight.

One of the things I like about this rd is the versatility. I can shoot 327 Federal, 32 H&R Mag and 32 S&W. I have ordered some 32 S&W to see how they do.

As far as the Ruger goes...I like it a lot...built like a tank...typical Ruger...I've had the trigger worked on to get it more crisp...about 10 lbs I guess

Originally got it with the wife and daughter in mind....but I dunno...it might be just a bit much

I am a big fan of singleshot rifles. I've thought for some time that the 327 Federal round might be a good alternative to the 32-20. I have wondered about accuracy as some rounds just can'tkeep them close no matter what platform they are shot from. I wish this round would have caught on. If it had more people shooting it the accuracy potential could be better measured.

Yeah I hear a 327 Federal rivals the 32-20 in a rifle...it really zips

The 32 S&W long is suppose to be very accurate...All I was basically doing yesterday was function checking it after a trigger job

technically I guess I can shoot 327 Federal, 32 H&R Mag, 32 S&W Long and 32 S&W short which are kinda cute

You can't go wrong with a Ruger.

Using one of the lesser cartridges for the family memebers you listed would be good alternative. I keep a Model 10 Smith for my wife loaded with 38 short Colt rounds. They shoot to point of aim and are very easy for her to shoot.

Hey Cap...I'll take that 327 Federal Brass...save it for me

Wife and kid have not shot it yet....The American Eagle 100 grain is hot stuff.

Got a few boxes of 32 S&W Longs to try....$21 for 50...not bad

Also got my Silver Dollar Pancake holster in from Simply Rugged and got a few speed strips and wallet for those as well.

Being able to shoot 4 calibers in one gun is kinda nice

32 S&W shorts are hard to come by though.
