I don't think CMP is in any danger of being out of Kimber 82's any time soon...

Subgunfan what do you think a semi-reasonable price for a 40X would be..

I almost jumped on one the other day on GB for $700

Hey, 'Neck, while you have your wallet out, did you see CMP is going to have a Rockola on auction?

$2000 on the CMP 40X wouldn't surprise me terribly.

Based on what I've seen the last few years on CMP auctions...The Gun wallet won't do...

U'd have to go to the bank and get a loan...I don't need one that bad...

I'd give $600-$900 for one....Betcha $900 won't even sniff that one going up on Valentines Day

They say they have less than 1200 left. I'd like to buy one of the 40x barrelled actions for $350, but the drop in bolt I found was $199. They just get too expensive too quick. I wouldn't mind trying SubGunFan's one time though!

Na You don't wanna try Subgunfan's...Then you'd HAVE to have one

I would not worry about 82G's running out...Folks shopping at CMP South Store hardly notice em...man I should have bought 2 when I was there...

but the 40X...well that one just rings my bell for some reason

All I can say is that IF you want a Kimber 82G, go ahead and get it pretty soon. As of a month ago, they had about 1200 left and that was both the $400 and $600 rifles. I know that when Shoeshooter and I went over on 1/22 there were not many in the racks. Of course this was on a Saturday and they had not be restocked since Wednesay.

I know two folks doing mail order for them as I type this ... I do not expect them to last until the end of the year ----

Neck, I have no idea what 22RF 40-Xs go for. As you know I am not in the market for one. You might want to look for Win. 52s also...........

jbp, you're welcome to shoot a match with my 40-X as I want to shoot one or two with my custom 10/22. We can discuss the "fee" later.... :)

Forgot this thread was about the 40X .. I looked at the barreled receivers at the South Store and actually thought about building one. Came home and did some research on parts along with some inquiries on a couple more boards --- parts are very hard to come by and if he can find them, they are way overpriced. Figured it would cost about $1400 - $1600 to put one together from a barreled receiver.

CMP auction prices are CRAZY!! I have seen $1000 guns go for $3000 just because they were a CMP gun!! CRAZY!! I am with Shoeshooter, bet it goes for $2000 or better!!

While I would like to have one marked US to add to the Military Trainer Rifle Collection, I am not going to pay what everyone wants for one. For shooting, my Kimber shoots better than I do. I have been offered a couple over the past month -- all in excess of $1000 and neither was US marked.

Kinda been watching for a deal on a 52...don't think it's happening anytime soon. Hard to justify $700 - $1000 for a 60-plus year old 22.
