I just bought a H & R 44 marlin for primitive weapon season this year and it has misfired a few time with Revelotion ammo. Any quick fixes so I can still hunt with this this year.

Do you have the hammer extension on it? If so take it off and try it withoit it. I took mine off and havent had a missfire since. Dont know why they dont use a heavier spring in it.

1st off welcome to msgo. Like stated above try it without the hammer spur end see if it works. If not take it back to where you bought it from.

Overheard a conversation this afternoon on this very matter...H&R doesn't make a heavier spring...not a lot can be done about it...You may need to change ammo brands...some primers are softer than others...depends on what they use...

I have never had an issue with mine and mine has the hammer spur

To know for sure...roll your own...reload

I have one also, put about 40 rounds down the tube with no problems, both factory and reloads. I think is worth trying the hammer spur. :thinking:
