5.7x28 5.56x45

I was lookin for the 224 BOZ cause i saw it in my magazine years ago..

I stumbled on what i never thought about..

5.7x28 uses a .224" bullet... so does a 5.56x45.....

Why the different numbers? 5.7mm = .224" 5.56mm = .218"

To avoid someone chambering the wrong ammo?

They do the same stuff with handgun ammo. .38 special and .357 are the same bullet.

well they just trying to be different. do you call your 5.56 a 5.56, 223 or 224? everyone calls the 5.7 a five seven
