I have a sling pack similar to that for camera gear and it carries nicely but I like my piece on me. I guess it would be ok to carry a backup in the bag but it allows too much opportunity for you to become disconnected from the weapon and would definitely slow down deployment time IMHO.

I have one of the 5.11 Push packs in OD green. I don't really carry around, but I do use it to hold stuff I carry between the vehicles and the house.

Neck have you checked out Maxpedition stuff. Haven't looked for a laptop bag but almost all of their stuff is ccw compatible.
