Just an opinion. A lot of folks these days like to boycott or discourage support for companies and peoples that disdain them or threaten their values. Not a bad thing at all. It’s an affective method. Bud light, Target to name a couple. But what about in the world of firearms? There are several countries that despise Americans and America that the gun world supports. Turkey despises America almost as much as Iran. Americans fawn over their Tisas and caniks. Glock fans? Believe it or not over half the population of Austria dislikes America. There are several others. Just stuff that I think about. Sources are of course from several internet searches but the info is reoccurring on several. Does this bother anyone else?

I've worked in 8 different countries. I can't really think of one that was out to get me. Sure their are those in every country I worked that didn't like us, some that were indifferent, and allot that did like us. But honestly I don't care if they like me. To me Bud-lite and Target shoving the proverbial rainbow down my throat or letting the wrong sex choose to use the bathroom my daughter and wife use, is totally different and your example is apples to orangutans.

Idk Rig. I kind of think sending money to adversarial nations is pretty stupid, but stopping the conversion at guns is silly what about oil, everything that comes from Chyna, batteries, food, drugs (illegal and legal) we can go for days. Russia could only afford their invasion of Ukraine because we backed off oil production and their price per barrel shot up. I’m almost to the point where if a guy claimed to want to build the greatest nuclear defense system ever conceived then start lobbing nukes, I’d consider him a viable presidential candidate.

Most of them hate us because we have a nasty habit of sticking our nose in other countries business, Saying we’re there to help and wtshtf we walk off and leave them.

You could break this down a thousand different ways with a thousand different reasons. What would be the point of that? Somebody hates me or what I stand for? Fine, I'll hate 'em right back.

I can't see where most people really hate each other. American, Iranian, Chinese, Russian, Ukrainian, gay, strait, high heels or overalls... most people can sit down and have a beer together. It's power-hungry tyrants that put people at odds with one another. You'd think after a few thousand years of this crap, people would stop taking the bait.

After a career of traveling and living abroad I have seen both sides to this. I base my observation as a boots on the ground military officer having served all over the world. the foreign nations I have been to enjoy and look forward to the US dollars brought in and spent by Americans however they HATE the western ideology that is forced upon them. The two usually do not come from the same source. The administration pushes an agenda while the boots on the ground are just spending money and have no say In the policy or plan.

@bangswitch i can not answer either question. I was only abroad doing a job not making policies or trying to change the world. I can speculate from some of the places I went that how we treat women is a big reason. Otherwise I have no idea why we are hated so much.

There is a physiological reason that most people don't realize. Every culture and race has a distinctive aroma that often cannot be masked by perfumes. Often due to different diets. You are what you eat. One to one it's not always noticeable depending on the individuals olfactory sense, but in crowds it is commonly noticeable. We're not much different than the animal kingdom in this respect.

I think it's because we try to force people to be like us. We don't respect the autonomy of others. We even do it to each other. It's the reason for a lot of our laws.

I guess what I was getting at is at the end of the day some people regardless of country don’t believe in freedom and equal opportunity. Heck half this country doesn’t buy what we are selling anymore. That doesn’t make it a bad thing to try to help other countries see the benefits of freedom. And I know you didn’t say that either. Its certainly impractical. But people hate us because they hate the idea of freedom, and to that I say oh well. If you ignore all the proxy bs that we have been involved in what we continue to offer is freedom from oppression. Freedom of commerce.

Here’s my problem at some point we decided the was enough freedom in this world so we stopped making more of it and instead of it being our biggest export it became our biggest outsourced item. So why are we giving our blood and treasure for something we obviously don’t believe in anymore?

If a country’s leadership (or it has no real leadership and is just a bunch of warlords) is oppressive to the people and we intervene for, then who isn’t respecting who’s autonomy.

I get what you are saying we stick our beak where it isn’t very productive for it to be but if we are fighting for their people’s freedom and their people want it the looser is in the wrong.

Yep! The people I roll with smell like gun powder, race gas and burnt rubber.

I had to stop seeing a gal years ago because she ate too dang much garlic and other weird foods that spewed from her pores. My scent, great as it is, could not overpower hers. She had to go.
