Nice pics. I'm like Limbic it is different from what we have been shooting. Wouldn't mind giving it a try some time. There is a range in north east Louisiana that I know a couple of guys that go over on the first Saturday of each month and shoot 600 yd benchrest.
The name of the place is Prince Gun Range. their web site is princegunrange.com but I checked earlier and there site is down today. Would be a closer drive for you.

Limbic,
Yukon has chairs available. The one I was shooting on was one of theirs. I bought a Drummer’s Thrown for India and Myself to use but since we were in the same relay she used it.
The groups are relatively small. There is not much that separates 1st-6th place about 1.00” or so over 4 targets on light gun. The Mirage is horrendous at Yukon! I had a hard time in Light Gun getting centered on the target. Here is a link to the results. http://internationalbenchrest.com/results/long_range/2010/Yukon%20MO/600%20YD-MATCH%204%207-25-2010.pdf
There were only 11 shooters that day. We only had one relay. Light Gun target #1 Is 6 minutes unlimited number of sighters. 10 minutes for 5 shots for record. #2 target is 2 minutes unlimited number of sighters. 10 minutes for 5 shots for record. Then the targets are pulled and replaced. #3 & 4 target, 2 minutes unlimited number of sighters. 10 minutes for 5 shots for record on each target. Then Heavy gun is shot same format.
IBS 600 yard LG & HG is 5 shots for record on 4 targets each. The smallest average group wins group and the highest total score wins score.
IBS 1000 yard LG is 5 shots for record and HG is 10 shots for record. Shot as relays and shoot offs. 1000 Match consists of all of the competitors slit into relays. 1 target in each relay. Smallest Group winner and highest score winner for each relay advance to a shoot off on one target, were the smallest group wins Group for the match and highest score wins score for the Match.
I shot my 65# .300 Atlas in HG and it did not shoot as well as I thought it should. I should have just spun the Brake off of my 6 Dasher LG and shot it. At 600 yard BR the 6mm’s rule the game.
X-Ring,
The Match in LA is not a Registered IBS Match. But it would be fun to shoot. I am currently looking at 2 different spots in Wayne county to set up a range for IBS 1000 yard BR or both 600/1000.
IBS Light Gun requirements are Smaller than .40 Cal, 17# weight limit and a Muzzle Brake is allowed.
IBS Heavy Gun requirements are Smaller than .40 Cal, no weight limit and a Muzzle Brake IS NOT allowed.
A 17# 6mm – 7mm F/Open rifle will allow you to shoot LG and HG!

I'd like to try that out with you at some time. Even if it isn't sanctioned. There are alot of guys walking around MS with #17lb F Open guns. Is that weight with or without optics?

Is there someone in the pits pulling your targets during the sighters I guess? Do they score all the shots or do you shoot your rounds for score then they score the entire targer?

Limbic,
There are NO pits. The targets are shot blind. This year they added 6” steel squares to sight on, but they are painted black so I figure they are useless! They have 4.5” Clay pigeons laying on the berm right behind/between the target frames. At Yukon you can forget about seeing any holes in the target. #1 & #2 targets are shot for record, then pulled and then #3 & #4 are shot for record. If you don’t have all 5 sots for record on the target you are DQ’ed. Three 1.00” groups plus one DQ average to DQ! With a17# 6mm LG you can fire a shot and watch through your scope as the bullet strikes the plate, clay or berm! The 17# limit include the rifle, bolt and scope minus the lenses and turret caps.
