I'm just getting started with my 7/08 barrel on the encore. Barrel is 28".
I'll just be plinking & staying tuned in until deer season. As it stands now, I plan to use Nosler 139gr, either accubond or Partition. Might drop to 120 gr Accubond or a close Barnes number.
Now for the help:
Anyone got a favorite load you may be willing to share.
thanks

I've started using the 120 gr Barnes TSX last deer season, killed 2 deer with this bullet, haven't tried the accubond, partitions, but I load the ballistic tips, 120gr for practice.

Did some Barnes test with soaked phone books, real pleased with the bullet expansion and weight retention.

I'm loading H414 50.5 grs which is the max loading per Barnes book, so start low and wrk up the load, checking for pressure signs. Chony avg is about 3200 fps out of a 24in barrel. TSx's require a little jump to the rifling, Barnes recommends .050" off, I got my best group with .060" off.
I do a light load, H4895 39.5 with 120gr Nosler ballistic tips. I got these .010 off.

I have a pro-hunter 7/08 that LOVES 120gr bullets. I have 2 loads, for different bullets, that will hit the exact same spot for me at 100 yards. I started with 130gr Barnes X bullets, then got some close out 120gr X bullets and worked up a good load.

The Barnes X recipe: Remington case (full length resized)/CCI200 primer/47.0 gr of H380/120gr Barnes "X"BT/C.O.A.L. of 2.73".
The other is a Speer recipe: Winchester case (full length resized)/CCI200 primer/44.0 gr of Varget/115gr Speer HP/C.O.A.L. of 2.655".
