7mm mag load question.

I have conflicting data on a 7mm mag load. Hornady 154gr sst on top of 65gr h4831sc. My book says 59 to 66 grains. Oal is 3.29 in book but the cannelure requires them to be seated at 3.225. What's your book say. I searched the net and i found folks using that same load and getting 3/8" groups.

Re: 7mm mag load question.

My Hornady book says 3.290 in max COL. That is also the overall max COL for all 7mm mag loads. I never had a problem loading them long and getting them to fit in the mag. My edition, 7th, doesn't have SC but H4831max is 61g.

FWIW Nosler also says 3.290 is COL for the 7mag.

Re: 7mm mag load question.

Aight my lymann book says 66 max on a 154gr sp but it does not list the hornady 154gr sst. To seat and crimp on the cannelure I had to go to 3.225. I've seen loads on handloader.com for the load mentioned above but the only book so far I've seen that it is not over max is in the lymann on a 154 sp
