First goes a CONGRATS to Dennis (The Big D) for his HP Match WIN today.

Sorry..... I didn't take any pictures....
While it was WARM today, I was having too much fun and didn't even think about the cameras. Boy, it felt GOOD to get behind the sights & trigger of a Garand again............................

Scores pending M1GarandFan's verification....

HEY.... Garand Shooters........ I need some HELP ! ! ! Those plastic Black Rifles were ganging up on me today. I tried to hold the "Garand Fort" with IRON & WOOD, but one Black Rifle slipped by........

Hey Neck.... You have been talkin-trash about those "baby bullet" guns.... Get your silly-ass to a HP match and show those 22cal boys what 30cal can do............

Also, saw Captain at the match (after it ended...). I guess he was too busy filling his belly at Shoneys in Clinton this morning......

I did break a newbie in today..... I let B. White shoot a Garand for the first time. The guys told me he is looking for one, but has NEVER shot a Garand. 16rds later, he had a BIG smile on his face.

The weather "should" get cooler soon. Grab your military rifle (iron sights) and some ammo, and come shoot a Hi-Power Match with us at Magnolia Rifle & Pistol Club. You might not win the match, but you will have FUN and possibly learn some things.................

I was going to come by and "observe", but made an emergency trip to the Vet's instead. SGF, I'll have my Garand back together and sighted-in by the next one. (ammo finally arrived Friday). Hang in there, man, reinforcements are on the way. Can't believe YOU forgot about pictures.

As to the AR's, I was trying to finalize my decision on what to get just last night. Looking at the results here, the 20" A2 has a decided edge. (Couldn't be the shooters, could it? :p )

Can't believe YOU forgot about pictures. Yeah I know..... I am still kicking myself in the butt for not taking PICS & VIDS.....

A2-20" for target shooting........ A3-16" if you want to go TACTICOOL...... They both can do either roll.... just better at their primary roll.

Sidebar..... Hey Shoe, does your dog REALLY hang that close to you......? :) That is a devoted pup.....

Yep, the scores are correct, SGF. I might shoot my M-1 Garand or the something else in the next Garand match. I'm looking forward to the M-1 Carbine match on 10/9  since I have put a new stock on my old Carbine. This should be a fun match.

Also a big congrats to Dennis on winning the match. He was really happy with his score. It was also good to have S. Newell back out with us again. He plans to make the remaining matches if possible.

Who heads up the F-Class? I'll make sure to forward the 2011 schedule to them and to Phillip for the McComb Highpower matches.

Yep, the 10/9 match is M-1 Carbines only. I have extra to loan out to people who want to come out and compete. They are a lot of fun to shoot and the targets are set at 100 yards instead of 200 yards. Plus the ammo is only $12.00 for 50 rounds (for match use only).

I hate missing the high power matches but my new addiction is F class. When you make the 2011 schedule will you take the F Class into consideration. Its hard finding time for all 4 matches I shoot.
Looks like fun to me.....

Yeah finding time to shoot all the matches I'm interested in is impossible when I combine it with work schedule.....not to mention getting ready at deer camp, wife wanting to go to football games etc....everything gets crammed in the fall

I thought the HP matches were over after this one?...

Only one more F class match in Oct and I need to make that one before I forget how to dial up 600 yards...

Plus I need a "new" Garand to practice with anyway :p

10/9 carbine - That might work

You gonna shoot? I'm sure someone will loan you a rifle :rotflmao:

As it stands now, I plan on that being my first match. Of course I just got a Garand so the next match is for carbines. My luck. Digging for stray change under all the cushions though, so I may have a carbine by then (How come there's no "smiley" for "praying"?)

Thanks for the offer...I've got a line on one, should be good to go by then. Gonna have to bump the AR build back a bit, but that's okay. Kinda leery of loaners since I "broke" two at Camp McCain :p

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, MSGO has the most generous folks I've ever met.

................. FYI, the CMP site has some accurizing tips for Carbines.
Yeah....... GOOD sight picture...... and SLOWLY squeeze the trigger. The "GOOD" sight picture (seeing and keeping it) is the HARD part...... :)

But HEY...... The targets are ONLY at 100yds..................... :)

The M1 Carbine is a FUN little rifle to shoot.
