I think para is alot like many gun companies...their older products were much better than new ones. Their double stacks can be moody, but the ones that run good are great limited uspsa guns. Ill buy a para any day.

My Para 1911, model 14-45 is a great shooter....only issue with the gun itself is the factory recoil spring is VERY strong! Hoping it will "break in" sometime..... very accurate & smooth......

Back to the original thread - I want a 1911 in 9mm too! Ammo ~1/2 the cost of 45acp.

Springfield Armory here and really like it. Accurate, yes, have shot it in some IDPA and a few steel matches. Single stack, and has been know to go to town in the shoulder holster on cool days with a coat.

Not alot made by the companies that make them.

Why not just buy a 22 conversion kit?

yeah they stick to .45's mostly. I've looked at the springer and really like it. I'll bet the recoil is really light. Do you have the target sights or the fixed?

9mm 1911s are super accurate. I have two but they are no where close to stock.
please tell us about them.
One is a 6 inch STI customized by Bob Cogan For Jack Ragsdale (who won the PPC world Championships with it). It has accu rails, a 2 lb trigger, and aristocrat sights. It will shoot about 1.5 inches at 50 yards. I use it for Metallic sight Action pistol.

The the second is a Springfield Armory turned to a "Master Blaster" by Bob Cogan. It is a Open class Action pistol gun. It also has a 2lb trigger, accu rails 20 hours of machine time of slide lightening, a cogan custom muzzle break, barricade wings, and a Leupold Gilmore Action Pistol red dot with Mover adjustments.
