9mm bullet weights for USPSA Production

2617 Views 12 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  msredneck
I'm shooting commercial 115 gr ammo currently, but am about to consider reloading for 9mm

My Q is ....what are the most common bullet weights used in 9mm Production class

124 gr 125 Gr 135Gr 147 Gr

The lighter bullets might be "snappier" while the 147 gr would give a little more recoil.

I'm looking at zero brand bullets all JHP's

Anyone want to recommend a supplier?

Comments...we need some action on the competition threads

147 is perfect for the G-17. Go to www.precisionbullets.com

You want the 147 truncated cone. They're on back order, so get them by the case.
Yes, you can use the factory barrel and Black Bullets with no problem. That's the hot set-up. And, yes... the 147 fp is the one.

Now, if you shot Limited class with a .40, you'd have to go the aftermarket barrel route.

The factory barrel has plenty of support. I wouldn't spend the money on one for a 9mm. I've already done that for you! I bought a Bar-Sto for one of my 9's. I did several accuracy test, and it didn't matter what bullet, or weight I used. The Glock barrel out-performed the Bar-Sto every single time by a country mile. It wasn't even close.
You're welcome.

I would order right away as David Long's bullets are so good, they're on back order for 6 weeks. It's a great product.

Heck, I could've borrowed 250 in town from another shooter for you to try. Trust me, dude...order a case.
