This is about both bullets, hand loading, and shooting so I put it here.

I already knew this, some of you might too. But in case you didn't.....

I don't want anything to do with the GOM in cold weather. Be careful out there rig.

Rig will be ok. Just gets breezy out there. I did see snow accumulation once on a jack up close to land in the early 90s.

The old Glomar Beaufort Sea is the reason I tried to stay around the equator most of my career.

Spent part of a winter on this thing in the mid 90s Yes it is an offshore rig.

On the original post, the hollow bases to "grip the rifling" is nothing new. It is the same concept as the Minie ball from the 1850s

They also have the advantage of being loaded backwards having a slightly different effect on a live target, but with limited range accuracy. The double ended have the advantage of being the same either way you load them.

Yea, I was going to jokingly mention to stay off finger boards or shell shaker l:lol5:, not that his position puts him out there.
But, yea, whole different than North Sea & area platforms..

Yep allot different and as a motorman now I spend most my times under the maindeck all the way to the pump room bilges, LOL.
And the North Sea is a whole nuther thing. Spent 1.5 years in the North Sea working off of the West Shetland Islands. People in the US only think they know what a cold north wind is.
