Aa#7 dilemma

I'm loading some 9mm rounds with aa#7. They shoot good and that powder seems to recoil smoother but it makes a mess when loading. #7 is very fine and meters well but my powder drop doesn't seal off well with it and therefore I end up with powder all over my bench. Does anyone have a load that shoots like #7 bit with a powder that won't get everywhere. (if any of that makes since???)

Re: Aa#7 dilemma

my lee does the same thing i could use my rcbs uniflow but then it kind of defeats the purpose having to stop in the middle of a stoke to dump powder.

my advice which i shoudl follow on my get 550b dillon and call it a day lol

Re: Aa#7 dilemma

I still load all my rifle loads on a rock chucker. I will tell you that lee pro 1000 is some junk! BUT! its cheap and if you are willing to size and prime out side the press you can set it up like I do. my wife and I size and prime outside the pro1000 and then I powder/expand seat and crimp on the pro 1000. It does a really good job on those applications i will give it that! so it is a cheap alternative to a 420 dillon press.
If you think about it the pro 1000 is a 3 hole press so if you use a lee FCD your going to make another round anyway. so i make the first round on two single stage presses and it works great! so thats my advice on the lee pro 1000.

the Dillon 550B is a great press and i am saving pennies right now to get one. the only thing is you will rip through ammo so fast you will run out of stuff to load lol and get bored and buy more stuff and end up spending more money in the long run lol!!!!
