I had been trying to get to the gun shop for a couple of weeks now. Well yesterday was the day. I went to Mitch's Gun Shop in Hamilton MS. From the outside, it looks like a flea market. An old one at that. :)

When you open the door, it is wall to wall, floor to cealing about guns and shooting sports. Friendly bunch too.

I have not shot mine yet, but I was able to rent the same model, and take out back to the range.

I traded in my old Taurus, and a Jimemez and came home with this.

And if the blizzard of 2011 will hold off, I may get to shoot a few today.

I am very happy with this one so far.

Well, I did just step out back and run the 17 round clip through it. I think the sights are pretty close. I shot the first couple from a rest at about 50' Pretty dang close. Function and trigger are great. Recoil is minimal. I can't wait till I can run a couple boxes through it. So far, I am pretty happy with this choice.

I'm wanting one, too. I'll probably opt for the black slide, though. Just personal preference, because I think yours looks great. Waiting to hear a full range report. Haven't heard anything bad about them or their big brothers. The only thing that bothers me about them is those big ole sights and the loaded chamber indicator. Looks like a lot of stuff to snag on a holster. Other than that, the gun looks perfect. Some don't care for the manual safety, but I think it's a good idea. I don't worry about it not being on my Glocks, but I wouldn't mind it being there, either.

BTW, the best deal I've found on them was through Davidson's and Gun Genie. About $441, tax, sack, and OTD.

The safety is at least in the right spot.. No problem to sweep it off with your strong thumb as you bring it up to level. The angle of the chamber indacator, should only catch as you reholster it. and the sights, are good to look at. The front site dot is almost twice the size of the rear ones. No problem finding it in a hurry, and keeping it in place for a follow up.

Another difference in price is that Gun Genie doesn't involve any additional FFL fees, so my price might actually be 10 to 15 dollars less than yours, unless your FFL does it cheap. Mine is $441.66 OTD, whereas yours would be the $428.49 plus the traditional $25 or so FFL fee. With Gun Genie, the negotiation is between Davidson's, my FFL and me, so there are no additional FFL fees. Just like buying a gun from a store. They do show an additional fee in the listed price, but it looks more like a shipping fee. And, the tax shown is the standard 7% MS sales tax that all gun dealers should be collecting. Gun Genie seems pretty straightforward to me, except for explaining that one fee. At least they don't play games with extra credit card fees like Bud's does. Even though 3% doesn't seem like much, it adds up over time and Bud's also makes you afraid not to take the insurance at an extra cost. They make you feel like you're on your own, if you don't take it. Even though they do have great prices, I always feel like they're nickle and diming me to death. It's a shame our local dealers try to shaft us so badly that we have to go to an internet dealer for our guns. Gun Genie helps me keep mine honest, because sometimes mine has the same gun in stock and it's always priced a lot higher. Sometimes more than a hundred dollars higher.

I also have a new SR9c and just put 250 rounds thru it. I had read about cleaning it first but other than the grease it looked clean, besides I figured it's supposed to work perfect out of the box...and it did. Love the trigger (especially compared to what I'd been shooting) and it functioned flawlessly with 3 different brands of ammo.

When we PM'ed back and forth yesterday, I closed, "Be sure to post a picture. I’d like to oo and aa a bit."

Well I have oo'ed and aa'ed. Very nice.

Glad you were satisfied with Mitch’s. I think you'll find that he'll stand behind what he sells you.
