Im thinking this is a mix n match one. its a series 80 GCNM Slide but the frame appears to be older- notice hammer, grip safety, and arched MSH. The trigger appears correct for the GCNM also the front strap has grooves running horizontal that my other GCNM doesnt have. I cant seem to find the SN range for a production date for the frame.

Pistol is fit very well and shoots great. Wear on the exterior slide and frame (beautiful idiot scratch too) but the barrel and internals show very little use. The left side of the frame has a re-import marking on it ( these were exported for military or police use and then reimported, hence the marking on the frame) yep decreases value and accounted for that when i paid $475.00 for it.

any help on identifying the date on the frame would be beneficial. As you can see from the pic the only letters in the serial number are SN then all numerals after that,

yeah i almost feel bad about it. I told the guy if it didnt have the import company on the left side of the frame i would have given him about $600 for the gun. I also told him he could probably sell it on here or gunbroker for more money, he needed the money so i helped him out. $475 is more than the pawnshop here would have given him so i dont feel too bad.

The frame appears to be correct. That is a GCNM wide trigger. Hammer and safety are correct. MSH is not correct, should be flat, but I'd be surprised if that isn't the original frame on it. My early 80 series GCNM also has the vertical grooves on the front strap. I bet this is a very early 80 series that has a bunch of 70 series parts on it. Does this one have a collett bushing? Is it chromed or stainless?

Colt's customer service will give you the date of birth over the phone... give them a call. They will also tell you how the gun shipped, i.e. what model that lower was from. You might as tell them you need a couple roll pins for the elliason rear sight while you are at it, if the roll pin hasn't broke, it will. They will send those for free.

chromed- and it does appear to be a very early series 80 w/ 70s parts and frame. I think even the MSH is correct as all my series 70 have the arched MSH. And it does have the collet bushing on it as well.

The gun shoots good, accurate and has eaten the 100 or so rounds i have fed it without any problems, I am super pleased with it.

I will proably call the boy up i bought it from and give him another 100.00 since it appears its a correct 80gcnm and not a mix and matched slide and frame. I dont mind getting a deal but i am not up for screwing someone on it. i will have $575 in it then and thats still a good deal.
