I don't seem to have much luck negotiating with the local dealers, as a matter of fact, most act like their posted price on new guns is etched in stone. Most of the time, I wind up ordering online and having it shipped to them, just to show them I don't have to be robbed on purpose. Anyways, this might be an option to save a little and still deal with them, since the sales appear to go through their stores. Anyway, here's the link and I hope it helps someone:

I've seen better prices on most of the guns listed, but not by much at all and the nice thing about this one is it seems to track inventories pretty well. If nothing else, like Bud's, it gives you realistic prices for comparison. Also might be useful for getting an item your dealer doesn't normally stock.

Ah..this explains a lot. Several times I have asked the guys at vans "do you have x..or can you get x" the guy looks on his computer and says "yes i can get it in 3 days" or "no they don't show it". Looking at DJ's silver mine online store..it looks like you can order that way..which is pretty cool..

So, you order online and just show up at the shop to pay the price that is on the website?
Miker, I'm not positive, since I've never actually ordered using the list, but it looks like you'd hit the accept button and then visit the shop to pay the deposit or just put it on your CC. Also, not sure what the additional charges are, possibly profit, but they're not too high. I'd be more inclined to use it as a negotiating tool to show my FFL. However, I think what happens a lot of the time is that the FFL bought their display gun at a time when prices were high and they claim they don't have much room to move on the price. Some of them even claim their distributor charges them more than the online prices we pay. Can't imagine why they'd go for that deal, but I can't argue with what they tell me as truth. I'd much rather buy a gun I can handle in person and will pay a little extra for that opportunity, but not an extra hundred or so like some of them charge. I've had a couple of them tell me that they only try to make $75-80 on a gun, which seems fair to me, however whenever I trade in a gun, it seems to wind up in the case for a lot more than that. My offer usually is, too.:)
