I recently traded for a new in the box full size AR version of the M&P 15-22. My experience to date has been great. Good shooter and while S&W advised to only shoot CCI and the like, it handled some cheapo bulk .22 I had laying around just fine. Mags are pretty cheap as well. The version you have pictured is the same product minus the stock and with a shortened barrel and forearm. I imagine it has the same performance. It's mostly composite but has a fairly decent heft and easy to breakdown and clean. However, if I had not gotten such a great deal on a trade, I doubt I would have paid list price.

Thanks EZ. I've shot the 15-22 rifles and found them impressive. That's what made me wonder about the pistol version. I've been told they are pretty nice, as well, and had a member here quote me a much better price, however they're still quite pricey for a novalty type handgun. Due to that, I think I'm gonna add a little cash and opt for a couple of Ruger Chargers for my son and myself. We just wanted a plinker for the range, so I think those might make us happy and we won't have to share a single gun. I may still own a 15-22P someday, but I think I'll put it on the back burner for now. Hopefully, I'll have a chance to see one in action between now and then. Thanks again for the info.:)
