Well Miss Hammer and I are experiencing the appleseed project shoot this weekend. It has been a lot of fun so far with a lot learned. Miss Hammer has been showing out. She is the youngest shooter there and hasn't shot much before now but she has out shot some of the others me included. I can already see she is improving. Everyone there has been so incredibly nice and so willing to help. She has sort of adopted 1 of the instructors as her own. For those who have never been to an appleseed I suggest you go. The course of fire is the same as the course of fires the marines shoot. There is a lot even an experienced marks man can learn from this and its not just shooting there are valuable history lessons that go along with it. I am sore in place I didn't know I could be sore in but its so much fun we are about to go do it all again today.

Miss Hammer just made marksman on hir first time to shoot AQT.She out shot some men and everyone is VERY impressed with her shooting. She is so proud of herself.

Miss Hammer made sharp shooter today with a 180 on the last AQT of the day and I made Rifleman on the 2nd AQT after lunch with a score of 213.

Man she is a trooper! She has shot about 8 hours a day for the last 2 days and is geared up for another day tomorrow. She is out shooting a majority of the people shooting which happens to be of course a majority of men. She is so close to making Rifleman that she can taste it and she is pushing herself so hard to make it tomorrow. I can't be more proud of her. The instructors have all come to the conclusion that when it comes time for 4H comp starting in the spring she is going to out shoot her age class by a LONG shot especially once she no longer is having equipment issues and has a gun made to fit her. Oh, I must also say I am sore in places I never knew I could be sore in after 2 full days of shooting in proper positions.

I'm trying to get some pics uploaded but my BB seems to be having some system problems AGAIN and isn't wanting to do much of anything tonight. I will get pics uploaded as soon as possible though of Miss Hammers sharp shooter AQT and me with my rifleman patch and AQT.

Sooooooo, I guess you guys did have a good time? Congratulations on the Rifleman score..You are now in the top 10% in the nation..Seems like Miss Hammer will soon join you. I think the Instructors adopted both of you.. I will be glad to see you back in Oct. Please spread the word, and bring friends. D-451
