AR 22lr conversion problems.

I bought a rimfire conversion for my dpms ap4 a while back and I'm having issues. Sometimes it won't eject spent brass and when it actually fires I drop the hammer on the next one and click I get a light hit. Anybody got any ideas. I've tried trimming back the recoil spring and that only made it worse and I had to order another one. My kit came from tacticalinc.com. It's the SARCK I believe.

Re: AR 22lr conversion problems.

These kits can be very ammo sensitive. The one I have for my M-16 is only 100% reliable in full auto with CCI Mini Mag. CCI Blazer is a close 2nd. Federal bulk pack is a no-go.

Light primer hits are usually a classic symptom of bolt bounce, but that should not be an issue in semi auto.

These conversion kits are know for breaking firing pins with some frequency. It may be worth driving out the roll pin for an inspection to see if yours is broken. I had one break so that the function was problematic but the firing pin was held inside the bolt by the roll pin so it went undetected.
