Question:
Are these the dreaded Black Talon rounds that will kill for just looking at them ???
Or maybe the precursor to the brand name roll out?
I ran across a guy looking to trade and I bought these on a hunch.
If not, then at least I picked up some more .45acp.

But they look identical to some black talons I had in the past... before the boating accident.

Supposedly the sxt stands for same exact thing.. never seen proof of that though. The sxz are very similar also

I cannot directly answer your question, but they are cool to have, Old ammo like this can be bitter sweet, some may not trust them for protection and definitely would not want to shoot paper with them, so they just sit for some people.

Ranger's are the evolution of the Black Talon line. Essentially the same bullet yes just not with the same marketing. Ranger's are excellent JHP's and one of the best for penetration and expansion in just about any caliber. Ranks up there with HST's and Gold Dot's for most calibers.

I still have some black talons in 9mm and 45. They just sit. I also have some Rangers, they look the same except for the case.

I run HSTs in all of my carry guns.

I agree with the time frame, but I think they are the same bullet and specifications, they are cased in brass instead of coated black. Same performance as the evil black talons... just not the scary color or box.

Looks like I was close. Nickel brass, not coated... thank's for the memory jog.
