at it again!

Thankfully I'm off today so I get to enjoy a little time out in the woods. Its pretty peaceful, albeit a tad more windy that I like. No worries tho. No deer yet but enjoying watching the chipmunks and birds. Anyone else out today?

Re: at it again!

going in the morning. I went up to the forest Tuesday and walked up on a small doe while I was putting my stand up, but I couldn't get my gun up to get a shot. Probably a good thing since it's not doe days on public land yet!! I took wed and today off, gonna hit it again in the morning. i'd been in and out of my plot a good bit, so it needed to sit for a couple days. This hot weather has been driving me nuts!! There are tracks all over my plot, I know they're there. In fact, tuesday mid day I was sitting in the blind and heard one blow in the thicket. It wasn't at me cause the wind was in my face and she didn't see me, but a bit later a couple dogs came out of the thicket into the plot. They saw me and circled around. if they didn't belong to the landowner I would have shot at least one of them.

Saw mama and the twins in the stand and walking out I had 2 does in my other plot and was laying down on the ground and trying to get a shot on the bigger of the two but the other one saw me and they took off

Re: at it again!

Heard that. I had one in my scope until I saw its collar and recognized it. As much as I would have liked to shoot one, it belongs the the neighbor who owns the land, so i had to let it walk. Oh well.

Tomorrow morning it's supposed to be a lot cooler, so here's hoping the ungulates are moving about, preferably to my food plot!
