Hi All,

Anxiously awaiting the call to come pick up my new M&P 15-22. Needed something to shoot that wouldn't break the bank since anytime I mention shooting the wife and kids are already in the truck!. Looking for some cool accessories (and CHEAP) if anyone has any suggestions.

Take care,

Get a red dot site. I've got 2 of these. One on an AR and one on a dedicated 22LR AR. I'm very pleased with them both.

Primary Arms M3 Clone

Edit-also buy 4 mags and pay someone to load all of them before you go to the range. You'll also need 10,000 rounds of 22 because you'll love shooting that thing.

Have stocked up on the ammo, but it seems I am also the designated loader in the family. Need to find some mags, lgs is looking but everything is on backorder. No worries, still waiting for the rifle to arrive anyway. Hopefully sometime this week... :idk:

The one I'm getting is threaded and comes with a suppresor (or compensator). The base model is not. They also have a MOE version that has flip up sights and magpul stock and grips. Guy had one at the range last week and let me and my 7 yr old son shoot it. SOLD!!!! Too much fun and the price is right. Has standard rails so you can add cool stuff. Can't wait to get it.

Interesting...I like the idea that I could use it to train on the AR platform while shooting cheaply.

How's the trigger? I've been assuming that's the one area where the 10/22 may have a big advantage -- the trigger with a Volquartsen target hammer setup is fantastic.

Now you are getting a little beyond my knowledge here!!
It felt crisp, not too heavy or light, when you slowly released you could feel the reset. Heard it was a good platform for the initial jump into the "black rifle" platform, and that is where I am. But mainly purchased because the whole family can shoulder comfortably (adjustable stock) and fire, the fun factor is off the chart and you can't beat the whole 4 cents a round deal. I'll give more updates when we have run some rounds through.

Take care,

Thanks! I've got an old 10/22 that's pretty well-used. By the time I invested in a new stock and new threaded barrel, I'd be halfway to the price on a decent used 15-22...makes me consider just keeping the 10/22 as is and getting a 15-22 to go with it.

You are probably correct, although while doing my research anyone that gets their hands on one is generally keeping them! I'm sure you can probably find one if you are diligent searching. Good luck and take care,
