Good morning folks,

Looking for a some places around Jackson area (no problem with a 40/50 mile drive) where I can do some bank fishing (bream, catfish, perch). Son is getting old enough to go and want to get him exposed. Boating is not something that's an option now because, well, we don't have one. :)

I've had a couple folks suggest calling panther lake but also had a couple tell me not to bother going there if we don't have a boat.

Looking, and grateful, for any suggestions or ideas ya'll have.

Thanks!

How about a lake in Clinton? No pier, but bream should be biting soon. Cane pole and crickets should work. PM me. Bruce.
The lake east of Lakeview? Think you have to be a member of the neighborhood assoc. to use it. They are always running people off.

Thanks for the replies. I'll scout out a few of those places around the reservoir. I've fished off the rocks near the spillway myself but I think that's a little too much for my kid right now. I don't recall that being a good place for cork fishing. If I'm wrong, please let me know.

What about fishing at the reservoir off the trace? Over near 43. I'm not sure of the legality of that. NPS site says fishing is allowed in lakes on the trace so it may not be a problem.
