Re: Banning of Lead Wheel Weights -- Map!

Dang, and I really like their tape. I've been accumulating (hoarding) 80-100 pounds a month. Looks like I had better keep at it.

Re: Banning of Lead Wheel Weights -- Map!

OK..... Lets crunch some numbers based on the video of that link.

200 million vehicles on the road with each averaging 5oz of WWs. That is 62.5 million pounds of WWs. They estimate 1.5 million pounds fall off each year. That is ONLY 2.4% of the WWs that fall off.

7 rains to completely corrode a WW. Note: The video showed the WW completely disappeared (after 7 rains). We all know that is bullsh*t. A lead WW will oxidize, but will be there for MANY years. True, the oxidation is the bad part of WWs for the environment.

The video makes you think the WWs will kill you "soon" because it gets into the water table. Lead is the LEAST of my worries of what is getting into the water table............ Lead (Pb) is a basic (natural) element in Nature. True, too much lead in the body in NOT good. But unless you are exposed to (work with) lead every day, or eat some lead, I feel your risk of lead poisoning is VERY LOW.........

With all that said............................ (and the media)..........

Forget GOLD............ buy LEAD.............. :)
