I have had this AMF 10/22 clone for close to 20 yrs taking up safe space. I didn't care for the long 22" barrel, ( I know I could have just bought another...but) So I decided to cut it to a more manegeble length of 16" & recrown. I put a few rounds thru it off hand and am pleased with the results. Here are a couple before and after pics.(Note barrel was already cut on first pic and just laying there for photo)

After thinking about it, I probably would have bought that 22" barrel. "One of these days", I'm going to build me a 10/22. Hope I get off my tail before you can't buy the aftermarket high cap mags. I could see where you could have a lot more maneuverability in the woods or indoors with that 16" barrel. Looks more like a gun built for "business".

Mark -- looks really good -- how does it shoot?

Looks good. Remember the next time though to cut around 17". That way if you still don't like the way it shoots you can have it re-chambered. And that will really improve the accuracy of the barrel especially if you take the time to do a little trigger work and bed the action in the stock.
