We certainly need some competition in the reloading supply arena around here ... Surplus City and Van's pretty much controls things ... Hope BPS' prices are competitive .... I would like to support the locals; however, when I can order primers and powder on-line and pay the hazmat fee and still save money, it is a no-brainer for me ....

There was a guy at the Magnolia range 2 years ago I think...who works at Bass Pro. He had a reloading survey he was asking people to fill out that he was going to turn in to corporate in attempt to show them the interest our locals had in reloading supplies. After that, Bass Pro in Pearl did begin carrying powder and primers. (availability another story on primers of course, but they have had some here and there).

Bass Pro has pretty decent prices on reloading stuff online such as dies, bullets, etc.

I'm very fond of the reloading section at the Cabelas in Baton Rouge. They have a wide selection of bullets at good prices. If Bass Pro takes some reloading section tips from Cabelas they will be doing good.

Well I went in there last Saturday, to buy the lyman 1200 PDS they had on the self, my luck it was gone. I was told too, that they would be stocking the selves with reloading supplies by the end of March. We'll see.

I use to always go to BPS and get ammo and powder/primers.

I bought a buggy full of Remington UMC .223 20rds for 3.99. Wiped their shelves out. Went back the next week and it was 4.99 so i bought more.. When it went up to 7.99 i started buying powder and primers :D

Vans does have horrible hours for the working man that doesnt get off till 5pm.
But they do have reasonable prices. Midway had a sale on Berger bullets so i got some. Any other time vans is the same price.

Got the opportunity to stop by Brass Pro in Birmingham this afternoon just to look over their reloading stuff ... They had much of the basics such as tumblers, brass, dies, etc. Not a great selection of powders and saw NO primers. Did buy a LB of Bullseye powder at $19.95. Prices were about the same as you can buy from Midway or Natchez; did not like the 10% sales tax there in Birmingham!! If the Pearl Bass Pro has the same type prices as the one in Birmingham, I will probably do some business with them.
