Hi y'all. Rankin county old guy here, been enjoying reading all the good posts on this site. Thought I better register, especially since I will be going by MHP in the morning with my app for CCP. I have started shopping for a good light CCW. Got any suggestions? (Now, that's a dumb question, didn't I just say I have been reading all the posts)?

Anyway, I don't want to have to buy bigger pants and longer shirts to carry and I know that if it's not fairly comfortable then I won't carry like I should so I need some advice on type of holster, etc.

This is a great forum and I am looking forward to spending lots of time learning from all of you who are the gurus of weaponry.

If you have been reading, you know that you should get a .380 Ruger LCP and a Desantis Super Fly pocket holster:

LINK

No wait, get a light weight .38 revolver with Crimson Trace grip.

No better get a baby Glock in 9 mm. Oh, make that a .40 S&W,

But some CC a 1911 in .45 (I am not sure how).

Bottom line: you will hear all of the above.

Stormy here right now. I might just come to the Meet n Greet to lay eyes on some of you "bitter clingers". I looked at the S & W .38 Bodyguard today and the Ruger compact 9 yesterday, both are light enough that they should carry well but do they pack enough stopping power is my question.

*Go to a gun store and handle some handguns.*

I carry a 1911, but you've already ruled that out. A revolver is point-and-shoot. A pistol uses mags, so reloading is faster. Even for a small carry gun I like something with stopping power, like a 38 special or 357 mag. in a revolver, but that's me.
