I just got home from wallyworld where I was getting some stuff to change the oil in my car and I decided that since I was off tomorrow and I was going to be at my FIL's house I may as well do a little shooting after I finished up on the car so I stopped by the sporting goods dept. and got a box of federal 45acp etc etc. and proceeded to check out. Well as the fellow was ringing me up he swiped the ammo and it read "sale not allowed" which he explained there must be a recall of some sort. So I sulked my way back to the car and thought to myself " Self, maybe they just had to ring it up in the sporting goods section" So I returned with determination to get my *(&%^ing ammo and spoke to the gentleman at the SG counter who reaffirmed the recall thus causing me to leave with only an oil filter and 4 quarts of oil. Hey! Hunters havenII is right across the street...salvation!...but noooo they were already closed :wallbash: They did have those 250rnd boxes of remmy UMC at walmart but I cant shell out $100 whimsically like that and survive the wrath of my wife

So does anyone know why federal is recalling thier 45 ammo? My guess is its because of the primers, but what do I know?

So, why was it still on the shelf?

I've never seen handgun ammo (well, lately) that you could pick up off a shelf in Walmart or most any other store.

Shotgun and rifle ammo, yes.

But not handgun ammo.

What Walmart store was this?

I have. For a while at the WMart in McComb. Found a bunch of Win 9mm with the year of mfg. and the NATO cross on the headstamp, bought a lot of it! Then went back and was looking through the boxes for the same headstamp and found several boxes that were about 1/2 empty...soon after the handgun ammo was kept behind the counter. Someone had obviously been catching up on their shop(lift)ing.

It was in a case and the gentleman that worked back there told me that he pulled it the day before but another shift must have put it back. What I dont understand is why he didnt think of it when he opened the case so that two people could get to this ammo that he pulled himself
