It is truely amazing what mother nature can do ... to us!! and we have "0" control!! In looking at all the destruction, it is a wonder that more did not lose their life ...
These and other pics i've seen remind me of Candlestick park when I was a kid. Helped a friend get some stuff out of their house...with no roof. Some were only a slab, some light damage, and some with none at all.
I was amazed by the random stuff that was still standing, while everything close to it was gone...and the stuff that was driven into trees. I too am glad the death toll was not a lot higher, and pray for those who did lose loved ones...and their home.
I remember the one back in 92' I think that went from Florence to Brandon, I was at my deer camp and got a call from a friend and they said it went down my street and that was all me and my dad knew. we were in different cars so he said go and I took off. I think it took me 30 mins to get from Newton to Brandon. luckily we didn't get hit but I was on the fire dept at the time and we had alot of work ahead of us.
