So i my never ending quest of brain farts i decided to make my own "hardball" alloy..
From left to right: Lino, WW, and Superhard(40%antimony)
Assuming WW is 2% antimony and .5% tin and the rest lead. I need to get these numbers to about 4% tin and antimony to make hardball.
What i do is i take my lee 20lb pot and fill it 2inchs from the top with WW (15lbs +/-) then i add 6 lino sticks and one line worth of the superhard.. Results are rather nice. My mold fills out great and the boolits are a slightly different color than straight WW boolits. I tried to take a picture of the two but my camera dont have a macro feature so they just look grey and fuzy = (. My boolits cast about the same size as straight WW(.359-.360) but they are lighter by a grain. by the numbers this should be about 15 on the bhn chart but i need a tester to verify.
Note: you can make hard ball by blending pure lead with lino 1:1 but cheap lino sources is slowly drying up.
