I have had some 6.5mm 130gr VLD's on back order since September. Midway keeps pushing the date out every month. Have been keeping a watch on all the other internet suppliers for any stocking them weekly. After checking today Midway has them pushed all the way out to mid March.
What is up with Berger. I have heard they were bought out by another company, is this true? I have e-mailed them and they tell me they are manufacturing the jackets for the 6.5's now. Is anybody else having the same problems or is it just isolated to the 6.5?

They raking berger rep over the coals for some blow ups...need to thicken the jackets etc...

Maybe they just quit making em and aint telling no one :idk:

They complaining on benchrest central all over the place...I might need to sell my 6.5x47 eh?

According to Eric in the above link they have a problem with the 6.5 jackets when used in the over bored rifles like the 6.5x284's with them blowing up. And they don't really know what the cause is. So i guess they stopped production until they can sort it out.

I shoot in F class competition here in MS. I'm am writing in particular about 6.5 bullet availability

Many here shoot 6.5 130 grain VLD bullets and there are none to be found...It has been that way for many months. A quick review online would reveal to you that the gun forums are full of frustrated precision rifle shooters looking for your bullets.

We've had orders in for months and no word on availability. There is a rumor going around that maybe you all are having some issues with the jackets on the 6.5s

We'd like to hear what Berger has to say about it.

Many of us may have to seriously consider going to another brand.

We shoot regularly and have to have a manufacturer and supplier that we can can count on.

We do not undertand why Berger would put some much time and effort into marketing a product that they seem unwilling to produce.

Keep us up to date. I thought they started revving up production of the 284/308 bullets this summer/fall. The lapua 123 supposedly shoot well.

yes. Plenty of everything. including vv550.
