How bad is it for a non-chrome lined barrel? Would it be aight if I just clean the gun like normal after every shooting session?

As I understand it, it's okay -- you just wouldn't want to do a half-assed job of cleaning it. There's somewhat less risk with a chrome-lined bore, but either way frequent cleaning is in order.

Still haven't submitted an AIM order yet, but at that price it's hard to argue with an extra 250 or 500 of SHTF ammo.

Just use soap & water before your Hoppe's or whatever you usually use. The problems will only crop up if you neglect the areas where the corrosive salts from the priming may collect: op rod, op rod area / valve near front sight; inside of action, etc. Just literally "wash" the rifle with soap- Murphy's Oil is good, but others use "Mr. Clean" or just regular soap - then clean as usual. If your worried you haven't dried it use a hair dryer. Hoppe's or conventional solvents may not dissolve the salts. Those 2-chambered cleaning bottles that used to come with all the Russian Mosin Nagant rifles had one chamber for soapy water, one for oil - for a reason!!

Again, it concerns WHAT you use to clean it, most commercial solvents won't dissolve the corrosive salts in the primer. Yeah, this is the ammo the rifles were "designed to use", but the personnel to whom they were issued were also issued cleaners / trained to use what is basically soap and water which was "designed" to clean those rifles with, ie negate the corrosive primer effects. I have used corrosive ammunition in various rifles for over 30 years now, I just clean them properly. See this link:

at Empire Arms on how to clean after firing corrosive ammunition. No big deal IF you just clean it right.
