I just picked up my old S&W 39-2 from Birdsong and it turned out better than I had imagined. Before I dropped it off, I had found some new old stock grips and a new lollipop sight for it. This could be habit-forming.

I've had several guns done in Black-T.
Mostly heavily used hunting guns and a few handguns. Great product.
Walter Birdsong was 1 hellva guy and a friend.
Hope the family keeps it going strong.

Sandman you are so right, I actually like the 39/59 series pistols myself also. And with the looks of this one just makes ya want one more.

More years ago than I care to admit, I passed on a model 39 that a friend
who was a S&W distributor had for sale and it was one of the fairly rare
early all steel models........oh well!!

Mine looks a little rougher than yours did. I think I need to copy your idea. Nothing feels more natural in the hand than a 39.

That M-39 Black T finish looks good, great pistol too. I've had several pistols coated with Black T finish. The Birdsong's are excellent folks to deal with.

(The first I ever bought was a mint Astra 600)
