Does anyone know if there are Black Powder Cartridge Rifle events in Mississippi or neighboring states?

Yes. At a minimum, they shoot paper matches at the South West Gun Club's range in Bogue Chitto, website here: http://swgc.tripod.com/
and Silhouette matches at the Pascagoula Shooting Club, website here: http://www.pascagouladcm.com/news.php
There may be others, but I have been to both of these ranges for BPCR events, and both clubs still list matches on their calendars.

Thanks! I really enjoy loading and shooting on my own property but would also enjoy being around other folks who enjoy the sport...
Glad to help. My brother was in to BPCR quite a bit at one time, even going out to Raton, NM for a couple of Nationals at the NRA's Whittington Center. Work caught up though and he hasn't shot much in several years now. He still has all the stuff though. My experience with it was only through him and shooting his equipment, but it was a lot of fun and really amazing what can be done with those things.
