I have no experience with them but have read many favorable comments on the Smith & Wesson forum, and they're right in our backyard. They were at the Jackson show Saturday but didn't have the opportunity to chat...they were pretty popular.

The Black T site is for the same business that is/was Birdsong. Not know if the actual name of the company is the same or not. Walter Birdsong did pass away. I think his
son(s) run it now. Dont quote me on that.

Mr. Birdsong did pass away last year. His son Walley has run the shop for years. You get the same finish as when "Bird" was here. Walley is an expert at that finish and the shop is in good hands. I have known the family personally for many years, and you will never be disappointed with the work. Springfield Armory sends their FBI model 1911's in the white for the finish before they send them out. There are too many companys and "agencies" to list that they do work for. Birdsong's Black-T is to gun finishes what Coca-Cola is to soft drinks. It's the real thing.

I couldnt get on the phone with BLACK-T today so Im assuming im gonna try Mr. Clean if I can get a holt to him. Someone point me in the direction I would most likely just like to call him instead of talking over the computer since I only get on here ever so often.

P.S. Black-T was at the gunshow over the weekend so he had displays of different firearms they did. I saw an Ar-15 that they did and the coating made it look like a toy but it still looked nice. They also had some of the pistols and they look really good. Hint hint they have done them in pink and black two tone for the ladys something to think about for a present. :)

+1 on what Cliff Cargill and others said about Black T. Mr. Walter was a great guy and a great innovator, and Wally is carrying on the tradition.

I've had several guns done at the shop, guns that needed to be "resurrected" from age or abuse. Here are an S series Model 58 S&W, a Series 70 Colt Mark IV and a Series 70 Commander. These are three of my favorite handguns, though all three would have been classified as beaters before refinishing.
