Ok Guys and Girls,
The day is near. This is for all of you that have expressed interest in seeing a cutting competition in person.

On March 12, 2011 there will be a BladeSports International Cutting Competition in Jackson, MS. This event will be a part of the MS Forge Council's Hammer-In at the Ag Musuem. The cut will take place at 4:00 pm. More information on the hammer-in schedule can be found at www.msforgecouncil.com

Feel free to ask questions about the event.

I'm not sure, there might be some damascus billets. I'm not sure about blanks though.

Chad Nichols is doing damascus blanks from what I heard. He makes some awesome damascus and is located in Blue Springs, MS. He might be at the Hammer-in, if you want blanks I would call him and if he has some available to bring he will. He normally only brings billets.

You can use a torch and some insulation to get the blade to the critical temp. It would be hard to do, but can be done. If you do get the blade shaped like you like, and smoothed out, You can send it to me, and I will HT it for you.
