Since much of the game is mental.

Are there any books on competitive shooting that we could benefit from?

I'm not trying to imply a newbie can get "competitive" by reading a book....but maybe some reading would help.

I am reading "With Winning In Mind" by Lanny Bassham for the third time. He is an Olympic Silver and Gold medalist, two time world champion and has coached olympic teams for about five or six countries. He concentrates solely on the mental aspect of competitive shooting. I think you will enjoy this book and you'll find it will help you. I bought it from Midway about three months ago.

Agreed on the Bassham book. A friend lent it to me and I need to finish reading it.
