A mechanic friend of mine has one of these. This thing will let you watch live, take pictures, and record video. The head that came with it is 8mm. He has been using it to check the barrels of 45/70's and larger caliber rifles. Now he has the 5.5mm head ordered. (30.06, .308, etc. oh yeah). You can see fouling unbelievably well. You can also check out the quality of the rifling, throat erosion, etc. It's really neat. Check it out:

Pretty cool, for that price tag it would be nice for someone who is a collector or buys alot of guns.

Dang. They're on eBay for less, too. But there's a big caveat: "Made in China"... I'd prolly still pay for the Hawkeye for the "Made in USA" markings. Hell, I just broke a brand new "Made in China" ice cream scoop this week. $6. I din't even get the first scoop outta the carton. I doubt whether I wanna trust a cheap ***** scope for use twice at that price.

I think you can also get one fairly cheaper at autozone with less features.
