ok here is my problem, bought a brand spankin new 22/45, with the clip loaded or unloaded the clip will not pop down at all when you mash the ejection button, You can pull it down but it wont pop down, i put my clips in another 22/45 and they popped down, put those clips in my 22/45 and they do the same thing so its definitely the gun and not the clips,

My question is could the spring for the clip be weak from the factory or are the tolerances so close the clip is just sticking and i need to smooth it out some. Or does the mark III not fully eject and the Mark II does. Any help would be Huge

The magazine disconnect new is this model is probably your problem. The MkIII Browning Hi-power also has the disconnect (spring actuated) and would slow an empty/near-empty magazine. The polymer material in grip may also play in this...Your pistol and magazines are probably just fine...The magazines in older MkII Rugers with the heel magazine release (no disconnect) do not fly out either. The magazines also don't have much weight to help them fall...empty or not

Good link post nonnieselman. Of course the disconnect is a separate entity from the hammer/assembly (works with the trigger) and the MkII hammer of course does not have the space as the MkIII for the disconnects movement. Replacing the hammer and bushings is stopping hammer movement. This additional work and parts change is of course not necessary on a centerfire pistol such as the MkIII HP's. But then you don't really need to worry so much about legal issues for a gun such as the MkIII and it's usual uses... :goodpost:

I'm interested to know how the removal works until I can work with a MkIII. Until then my MkII is awaiting next trip to range.

Looks good...I see nothing wrong with that...May have changed my decision on a new MkIII instead of used MkII. Again...you that use it let us know...There's always Brownells if Murphy comes to call- which I doubt. I've never disliked the trigger or accuracy on my MkII but I've been seeing that Volquartzen (spelled right?) hammer mentioned more lately.

OK GUYS SO I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THE SAFETY REMOVAL. Gun operates just like a mkII, first off though i couldn't use the 10 SAE washer the guy on youtube used, not saying your gun will not need it but mine didn't. i only used both of the 5mm's. a dremel is needed to barely open the holes of the washers a little more and notch the tops. it will literally shoot the mags out now and will fire without the mag in, best 50 cents i have ever spent on any gun. if anyone needs and questions answer just post it up. And it may just be me but i Feel like the trigger is smoother and a little lighter. gun was a breeze to break down

Ill let ya know how bad i screw it up tonight. getting the upper off the lower was the hardest part of the disassembly, got it back together no problem.. i dunno why everybody has problems gettin them apart and put back together. i took mine down to each part and cleaned it up.

I took mine apart again last night and put the 2 5mm washers in. Works great!!!

IF anybody else is interested, i have about 94 washers left. I already have dremeled out the inside diameter on about 20, so it fits over the bushing.
