There are some weird flower stickers on the stock where they decorated it. This gun is as is and has not been cleaned in any way.

Wasn't that the gun that "saved" the British during the Zulu attack, back-in-the-day? (the one they made the movie about)

I think they lost that whole war because they were out numbered...but yes it is the gun...This one came out of Iraq and I believed it was picked up from the battlefield or something.

The individual battle that made the rifle famous was the Battle of Rhourks Drift. It was an British Engineer unit building a bridge. I believe that the British numbered around 200 and the Zulu's in the thousands I've heard 2 to 5 thousand. The movie is actually quite good IMHO. They won that battle, and another unit was wiped out prior to the battle at Rhourks Drift, but can't remember that battle (massacre).

Nice Rifle by the way. How is the barrel? Have you had the barrel slugged to determine the specific caliber that you have?

I think the barrel is .450 cal. and this gun looks like you can shoot it right now if I had ammo. I really don't wish to shoot it. Thanks for the info.

Interesting this gun came from iraq! Have only seen some in museums, no real in the hands of a collector. I like the movie about the Battle of Rhourks Drift, you can have a look at youtube.

The name of the Movie is "Zulu". It has a young Michael Caine in it, but that's the only actor I remember or recognize. The Grizzled old Sgt. Major in the movie plays his character well too.
